Origin of Metatron

My name is Rob Hoed, initiator of the foundation Metatron. We organized many parties with this foundation in the past, between 2006 - 2009.

In 2009 theorganization fell apart and it was completely silent until August10th 2022.

History Metatron foundation

In 2006, after about 20 years of going to parties all over the world, I decided to get a group of people together to organise Psytrance parties. I did this because there were no Goa and Psytrance parties at all in Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

I wanted to bring this unique vibe that I had experienced at Psy festivals (mainly in Germany at Antaris, Excalibur, VooV Experience, etc) to Eindhoven.

Together with twoother people, Chappie and Pascal, we created a core team and wedecided to establish a foundation.

We didn't have aname yet, but Pascal came up with the name Metatron. Since then thefoundation has been called Metatron.

Together with thiscore team and many volunteers, we organized many legal and illegal parties for 1.5 years. It turned out to be a great success. Even other organizations invited us to organize parties together.

We did some large and small parties and even two festivals during Queen's Day in Eindhoven.

We even had serious plans to organise a big 3-day festival. We aimed for 15,000 visitors, including a campsite as well.

We made a presentation about this plan for the municipality of Nuenen, after this presentation we received the green light to organize our festival!

But that's when reality hits hard. We had no experience in organizing such a large festival at all. Panic hit us and we decided to cancel this festivalplan.

Chappie and Pascal decided to leave Metatron. Their priority concerned making music, not organizing parties. Together we organized parties for 1.5 years.

I decided to continue Metatron and I went looking for two other core team members. One week later, Leandra and Sjef applied for these positions. With this new core team we also organized many legal parties for another 1.5 years.

Together with this team and many volunteers we also made our own unique deco. We invited many known and unknown, national and international DJs to our parties. It was a great time!

The very last party of Metatron was on the Lichtplein in Eindhoven, during King’s Day 2009. After this day the whole foundation fell apart.

Due to circumstances, the other two core team members decided to unsubscribefrom the Metatron foundation the day after King's Day.

This was the last straw that was needed and this meant the end of the collaboration and the end of the organization Metatron.

The energy of Metatron has always stayed with me. Having the urge to organiseparties again.

I was able to push this feeling away for many years. But on August 2022, I embraced this strong desire. I started looking for a new core team to start organizing parties again.

I realized if I wouldn’t do this, the urge to organise would’ve kept haunting me, this because Metatron hasn’t finished yet! Then it would have felt like unfinished business.

Also, we were almost  at the same point as in 2006. There were no Psytrance parties any more here in Eindhoven.

It is now a fact that we will continue where we left off. But this time with new fresh and powerful natural energy of its own.

A new core team has been formed with  Leigh, Sean and myself. A large group ofvolunteers is willing to help organising parties again. Ideas and plans become reality again.

I would like to thank everyone who’s participating again, but also everyone who helped in the past. The things that happened have brought us to this point...

Now it’s time to take it to another level. And that’s already happening.
